The Mariazell Advent, Austria's largest traditional Christmas market, invites you to a contemplative prelude to the Christmas season from November 19th to December 20th, Thursday through Sunday, as well as on December 7th and 8th.

The AKTIVHOTEL Weisser Hirsch combines modern hotel comfort with traditional, down-to-earth charm. In a cozy atmosphere, you'll find a stylish lobby with reception, the convivial "Platzhirsch" café-bar, an event area with four meeting rooms for up to 300 participants, and a ski storage room. The hotel's own à la carte restaurant, the Hirschenwirt, a traditional inn, serves Styrian delicacies as well as refined creations from around the world in a comfortable setting, accompanied by fine wines. Winter fun
Mariazell is particularly enchanting during Advent and Christmas. The traditional Mariazell Advent celebrations delight visitors with a festive atmosphere around the basilica, while the magical lights on the Bürgeralpe transform Mariazell's local mountain into a captivating winter wonderland. After taking the Bürgeralpe-Express cable car up, you'll be greeted by illuminated paths, glittering trees, a shimmering lake, and an impressive sound-to-light laser show at the observation tower. The New Year's market extends the wintery ambiance around the turn of the year with music, regional specialties, and atmospheric lighting.
Just 50 meters from the hotel is the entrance to the Bürgeralpe-Express cable car, which takes you directly to the Mariazell Bürgeralpe adventure and ski area with 10 slopes and 14 kilometers of runs. An illuminated toboggan run, winter hiking trails, and the Amigos Ski School's children's ski area offer plenty of fun for winter enthusiasts of all ages. In addition, snowshoe hikes and – when snow conditions permit – groomed cross-country ski trails in the Mariazell region invite visitors to actively discover the snowy landscape.
