In the morning you will visit Herberstein in eastern Styria with the family-owned Herberstein Castle, the Historical Rose Gardens, the five-storey Sigmund Garden and a fascinating wildlife with local and exotic inhabitants. Choose between an “Africa Safari – a journey through East Styrian Africa” or a guided tour of the “House of Biodiversity”. During the “Africa Safari” with zoological accompaniment, you will immerse yourself in the wildlife of the Black Continent. From the Ethiopian highlands to the South African savanna, African flair accompanies you with live lion roar - provided the predators are awake. Under the motto “Diversity of Life”, the “House of Biodiversity”, opened in 2023 as part of the STEIERMARK SHOW, invites visitors to marvel at and discover the wonders of nature and its diversity in a playful, interactive, exciting and sometimes surprising way. Afterwards, guests can enjoy a 3-course meal at a regional inn.
Alternatively continue to Riegersburg in the Styrian Volcano Country. In a traditional buschenschank at the foot of the Riegersburg, you can experience the path from the vine to the bottle in a personally guided tour through the Schauweingarten up close and you can immerse yourself in the fascination of wine with all your senses. After tasting five selected wine tastings you can enjoy a house plate with hearty Styrian specialities.
The afternoon is all about pleasure. You visit the chocolate factory Zotter in the Styrian Vulkanland. Immerse yourself in the world of rotten chocolate. On your individual adventure tour you can independently explore the chocolate factory with an audio guide and learn how chocolate is made. At many creative snack stations you can experience how varied and exciting chocolate tastes. The edible zoo invites you to animal pleasure and relaxation.
