The traditional ski and world cup village Hinterstoder is located in the south of Upper Austria and is often referred to as the "snow hole" because of its guaranteed snow. Idyllic winter landscapes and slopes that reach up to 2,000m above sea level await you here. The Hinterstoder-Höss ski area offers 40 kilometers of slopes of all levels of difficulty. The wide range in Hinterstoder also offers a Sunny Kids Park for the little ones, the SNOWtrail adventure slope, a speed route and the Hannes Trinkl World Cup route for experienced skiers.
The Explorer Hotel Hinterstoder is located directly at the valley station of the mountain railways in the Hinterstoder-Höss ski area. The free ski bus takes you several times a day to the Wurzeralm ski area, which is around 30km away, with its varied slopes and sunny runs. A ski bus stop is only 100m away.
2 classic, 4 skating and 1 high-altitude trails await cross-country skiers. There are snack bars and inns along the trails. The region also offers wonderful routes for winter and snowshoe hikes, numerous tobogganing opportunities and cozy ski huts and après-ski events.
