Built on historic grounds, the Grand Hotel Primus is quietly located on the banks of the Drava, embedded in a hilly landscape full of wine. The historic old town and the castle of Ptuj can be reached within a few minutes' walk via a pedestrian bridge. The 18-hole golf course of the Terme Ptuj thermal park is located directly at the hotel.
The town of Ptuj, the oldest Slovenian town, boasts of its rich heritage of the past. Most of the city center is a listed building. Stroll through the old town center with the town tower and its charming cafés, explore the Ptuj wine cellar with its over 700-year-old tradition and climb up to the Ptuj Castle with its magnificent castle chambers and beautiful views over the city. For active guests, a visit to the Ranca sports/leisure center, which can be reached on foot or by bike from Terme Ptuj, is a must. Cycling and running fans can set off on the well-maintained, exciting paths around Lake Ptuj. In the summer season, a wide range of water sports is available here.

The hotel owes its name to the famous general Mark Antonius Primus, who first brought the name Poetovio (Ptuj) into the world. You will feel a touch of the rich Roman past at every turn, as both the appearance of the hotel and the fine offer are influenced by Roman history. The hotel welcomes you with a lobby area with reception, an aperitif bar and a snack bar by the pool. Culinary options include the buffet restaurant with regional, Styrian and Roman specialties as well as healthy alternatives as part of half board and the à la carte Primus restaurant with an excellent selection of local Slovenian and international cuisine. Conference facilities, a lift, two charging stations for electric cars (for a fee) in the garage and free parking complete the offer. WiFi is free of charge.

Golf
The 18-hole Ptuj golf course covers an area of more than 50 hectares. The golf course is something very special due to its varied terrain and numerous water hazards. Unforgettable for golfers is pitch number 14 with the spectacular shot onto the island. Golf carts and golf equipment are available to rent. Golf courses are offered at the golf school.

Wellness
You can find peace and relaxation in the in-house wellness center “Valens Augusta”, designed in Roman style. In the “Vespasianus” bathing area you can enjoy Roman thermal bathing traditions in the indoor and outdoor pools filled with natural thermal water (approx. 33°C) and in the two whirlpools. Meanwhile, the little ones are having fun in the children's indoor pool.
The “Flavia” sauna area can be used for an additional charge and includes 5 different saunas, including a Finnish sauna with chromotherapy and a Roman VIP sauna for hot hours for two, as well as an ice pit and a warm and cold Kneipp pool.
Thermal Bath
The Ptuj Thermal Park is just a few steps away from the hotel (no connecting corridor) and can be used free of charge twice a day.
In the thermal park you can expect 14 outdoor and indoor swimming pools with a total of 4,200m² of water area and filled with healing, mineral-poor thermal water or natural water.
7 indoor pools, including a swimming pool, a children's pool, whirlpools and a therapeutic healing pool as well as a partially transparent water slide all year round, offer water fun for everyone. The outdoor thermal park (open only in the summer months) features 3,500m² of water in several pools: Olympic swimming pool with diving tower, wave pool, a torrent and a tower with several water slides guarantee water fun for young and old. The offer is rounded off with guided exercises in the swimming pools, leisure activities in the green areas or simply relaxing on the deck chairs in the shade of the mighty trees. For your well-being, there are Finnish and Turkish saunas as well as a sauna in a wine barrel available in the sauna park.
Spa Treatments
The "Empire of Wellbeing" in the hotel's own wellness center, designed in Roman style, takes you away from everyday life into a world of inner peace and deep relaxation. Treat yourself to a facial or body treatment and relax in the style of ancient Rome with baths - alone or as a couple, classic and exotic massages, wine, mango and lavender wraps, herbal peelings, facials with products from Babor and Pevonia Botanica and anti-cellulite treatments. At the Terme Ptuj health center, professional medical treatments and extensive relaxation programs go hand in hand. Due to its proven and recognized healing effects, Ptuj thermal water is particularly suitable for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, sports injuries and diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
