Opening in winter 2023/24, the Obertauern [PLACESHOTEL] by Valamar is the newest member of the [PLACES] brand and the first of its kind in the Alps. With the unique [PLACES] hotel concept, you can immerse yourself in the alpine lifestyle and the true nature of Obertauern as only the locals know it.
The [PLACESBARS] and the [PLACESRESTAURANT] impress with a high-quality range of food and drinks - a mix of international, local, American and Asian cuisine. The [PLACESLOUNGEBAR] awaits you with hot or refreshing drinks, quality wines from the well-stocked wine cellar and unique signature drinks. In the [PLACESROOFTOPBAR] with terrace and wonderful views of the Alps, you can end the day with a fine selection of whiskey and rum in a relaxed atmosphere or cheer on sports broadcasts. With [PLACESDIGITAL] you have access to a large digital library, smart TV with streaming, contactless room access, cashless payment with a wristband, super-fast WiFi and the [PLACESAPP] for an even better guest experience. The 120 comfortable [PLACESROOMS] & [PLACESSUITES] are a unique mix of modern design and alpine chic. All residential units are decorated in warm and natural colors and have a bathroom with shower, toilet, hairdryer, Marshall Bluetooth speaker, smart TV, minibar, safe, high-speed WiFi and an iron and ironing board on request.

[PLACESFLEXI]: If you do not take advantage of the evening buffet, you will receive a credit worth EUR 30,- for consumption at the bar, applicable for the next day.

Winter fun
Obertauern is one of the most snow-sure ski areas in the Alps with perfect conditions from the end of November to the beginning of May. In the middle of the fantastic Salzburg mountains, between 1,630 and 2,313m, over 100 kilometers of slopes of various levels of difficulty and 26 ski lifts await you. Sufficient powder snow for fun and safe freeriding, a dedicated snow park for fun athletes and special experiences such as night skiing round off the offering. Several ski schools and ski rentals ensure the upcoming skiing fun. The apres-ski area offers you the opportunity to get to know other holidaymakers and people from the region.
The Obertauern [PLACESHOTEL] is the perfect starting point to enjoy the entire range of winter sports. The next ski lift is just a stone's throw away and can be easily reached with the hotel's own shuttle service. A ski rental and shop with first-class equipment are located in-house. The Valamar Experience Concierge will assist you with reserving your ski or snowboard courses, private lessons and equipment rental as well as obtaining ski passes.
Away from the slopes, there are well-prepared cross-country ski trails, winter and snowshoe hikes, snow biking, toboggan runs, ice skating rinks and horse-drawn sleigh rides. Afterwards numerous huts and bars invite you to party into the night.
