The family-run hotel is located on the outskirts of Hinterstoder, surrounded by the mighty Limestone Alps of the Dead Mountains, in the idyllic Stoder Valley. The center of Hinterstoder can be reached within 10 minutes on foot.

Arrive and feel good! The Poppengut relaxation and hiking hotel is a place of peace and individuality. In a cozy atmosphere, you will find a lobby with reception and hotel bar, a restaurant with regional delicacies from the gourmet kitchen as well as fine vegetarian dishes and an in-house wine cellar, ski cellar, elevator, e-charging station (for a fee) and free parking spaces on site. WiFi is available free of charge in all areas.

Rooms
43 rooms of different categories await you in the hotel. Equipped with a bathroom with bathtub or shower/toilet, hairdryer, bathrobe, telephone, radio, satellite TV, safe, Wi-Fi and some with balcony or terrace, they guarantee relaxing holidays.
DS (2-2): Double room, approx. 18m², simply furnished in the old building with shower/toilet, some with balcony, 3* category.
DK (2-4): Country house room, approx. 30m², shower/toilet, parquet floors, comfortable seating area, balcony or terrace
SS (2-2): feel-good suite, approx. 40m², living & feeling good at the highest level with an open bathroom with shower and bathtub, separate toilet, wooden floorboards, minibar, espresso machine, comfortable seating area and balcony in a quiet garden location with a fantastic view of the mountains.
ES (1-1): Single room, approx. 18m², simply furnished in the old building with shower/toilet, some with balcony, 3* category.
Meals
Poppengut's gourmet board: Rich gourmet breakfast from the buffet with a muesli corner, fresh fruit, various fruit juices, wholemeal products and much more, in the afternoon cold or warm snack and homemade cakes from the buffet, in the evening 5-course menu with choice of regional delicacies from the natural kitchen and salad buffet. Vegetarian, reduced-calorie or diet cuisine available on request and in advance. Christmas menu included.
Activities
Exercise program with the wellness team with e.g. water aerobics and fit for the day with Smovey, weekly guided winter and snowshoe hikes.
Winter fun
The impressive mountain giants of the Dead Mountains form the breathtaking backdrop for Upper Austria's only World Cup ski area, the Höss in Hinterstoder. With 14 modern ski lifts, you can really enjoy the 40 varied kilometers of slopes with the best snow quality. Skiing highlights such as the adventure slopes and ski circuits as well as the Hannes-Trinkl World Cup slope and our own racing and training center with a permanent racing track ensure an extra portion of action.
From the hotel you can reach the valley station of the Hinterstoder-Höss ski area within a 5-minute walk or with the free ski bus. A bus stop is located directly at the hotel. The Wurzeralm ski area with around 22 kilometers of pistes is about 30 kilometers away and can also be reached with the free ski bus.
Away from the pistes you can explore the wintry natural landscape on winter or snowshoe hikes or a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will find more than 120 kilometers of trails throughout the Pyhrn-Priel region. Access to the cross-country ski run is right by the house. Just 300m from the hotel, the Stoderer natural toboggan run, which is illuminated daily until 11pm when there is enough snow, promises fun for the whole family.

Conscious enjoyment and deceleration can be found in the sauna adventure world with Finnish sauna, hut sauna, two scented steam baths, aroma bath with color light therapy, infrared deep heat, fresh water whirlpool, Kneipp corner and relaxation rooms with juice bar and apple basket. In the adjoining bathing pavilion with indoor and year-round heated outdoor pool, 2 whirlpools and spacious relaxation areas with refreshment corner, you can relax wonderfully.
