Located on the outskirts of Bad Hofgastein, in one of the sunniest places in the Gastein Valley, and at the foot of the Schlossalm (2,066m) and the Hohen Scharte (2,300m), the Sonnenhotel Zum Stern is an oasis of peace and relaxation. The center of Bad Hofgastein and the Alpentherme thermal baths can be reached within a 15-minute walk.

The Sonnenhotel Zum Stern is a small, fine boutique hotel with modern charm and a fantastic view. In the cozy rooms with lovingly laid tables and small niches, you can enjoy regional specialties with culinary influences from all over the world in a pleasant atmosphere as part of the half-board. The hotel's own à la carte restaurant spoils you with Salzburg delicacies or international creations, with great emphasis on regional, organic and fresh food. The right wine comes from the hotel's well-stocked wine cellar. Enjoy the wonderful view of the Gastein mountains wrapped up warm on the panoramic terrace or end the day comfortably at the hotel bar with an open fireplace. Elevator is available. Pets are not allowed. WiFi is free in all areas.

Rooms
The modern hotel with a high standard has 48 spacious rooms in natural materials that exude a feel-good atmosphere from the first to the last day of your vacation. The comfortable furnishings - from classic to modern - with a spacious bathroom with bathtub or shower, sometimes with a separate toilet, hairdryer, bathrobe, telephone, radio, flat-screen TV, minibar, safe, WiFi and balcony with a wonderful mountain view leave nothing to be desired.
DS (2-2): Schlossalm double room, 25-30m³, shower or bathtub, wooden floor.
DD (2-4): Silberpfennig double room, approx. 35m², in a cozy country house style, luxurious bathroom with double washbasin, separate toilet, furniture made of light spruce wood, additional pull-out couch.
Meals
Gourmet board plus: rich breakfast buffet with organic vitality corner, fresh fruit, egg dishes and regional products, savory-sweet snack in the afternoon, 5-course menu in the evening including a salad bar or seasonal buffets. Weekly specialty evenings or barbecues on the panoramic terrace.
If you have allergies or intolerance, alternatives to the daily menu are available upon request and in advance.

Winter fun
The Gastein Valley offers skiers, whether beginners or advanced, four varied ski areas with a variety of blue, red and black slopes, which have a total length of over 200 kilometers. These belong to the Ski amadé ski association, one of the largest winter sports areas in Europe. The Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel ski area is the largest, connected ski area in the Gastein Valley and ideal for families. There are not only ski slopes for all levels of difficulty, but also a large practice area for beginners.
With the free ski bus you can reach the Schlossalmbahn and thus access the Gastein ski area in just 7 minutes. A ski bus stop is located directly at the hotel. Ski pass service is offered at reception. Cross-country skiing fans will find the sports field trail near the hotel or the illuminated Kurpark trail for a final round in the evening. Use of the cross-country ski trails is free throughout the Gastein Valley (except Sportgastein).
Over 100km of groomed winter hiking trails are available for those who would prefer to experience the winter mountain magic on foot. Things are certainly a little faster on the prepared toboggan runs. With more than 60 kilometers of groomed trails in the Gastein Valley, cross-country skiing fans will also get their money's worth. With snowshoe hikes, ski tours, spectacular ice climbing opportunities, ice skating and curling, there are numerous other options for an active winter holiday.
