The Wachau is one of the most beautiful and best-known regions in Austria. Thanks to the comparatively mild climate, the Wachau is also one of the most important wine-growing regions in the country. The best way to explore the area is by bike or on foot. The Danube cycle path leads almost directly past the hotel. Unforgettable moments and views are guaranteed. On a Wachau boat trip, you can marvel at the breathtaking scenery from the comfort of the water.

Owned by the Pritz family since 1908, the "Schwarzer Bär" has been steadily expanded and modernized over generations with sensitivity and great attention to detail. The cozy ambience of historic walls combined with 4-star quality create a unique feel-good atmosphere.
The house has a restaurant, an à la carte restaurant with magical rooms and a beautiful winter garden, a garden terrace, a vaulted wine cellar with exquisite wines from the Wachau and 2 modern conference rooms. In the unique ambience of the restaurant, you can enjoy regional Wachau specialties, traditionally prepared Waldviertel fish dishes or light, creative delicacies and vegetarian delicacies - prepared personally by the chef (flexible opening times in the winter months). The large garden with lawn invites you to relax. A bicycle garage, elevator, free parking and an electric charging station for Tesla (for a fee) complete the hotel's offerings. WiFi is available free of charge in the lobby and in the rooms.
