The lush, green Ennstal impresses with its varied landscapes in which water, regardless of its form, plays a major role. Be it the glaciated Dachstein, wild and romantic gorges and springs, rushing streams or around 300 mountain lakes, the clear, fresh water characterizes the surroundings and ensures an invigorating hiking experience.

Accommodation: Accommodation is in 4* hotels and 3* inns/hotels. The comfortably furnished rooms have a bathroom with bathtub or shower/WC, TV and most of them Internet/WLAN. Payable locally: local tax.

Your hiking tour
 
Day 1:
Individual arrival in Schladming-Rohrmoos to your accommodation. Handover of travel documents at the accommodation. Overnight stay in Schladming-Rohrmoos.
Day 2:
Variant: Untertal – Duisitzkarsee – Neualm – Untertal, approx. 9.5 km, 4-5 hours. Altitude in ascent / descent: 704m / 702m.
As a start we recommend the Duisitzkarsee, a real insider tip: the hiking bus takes you to Eschachboden. There you can choose whether you want to take the longer forest path or the steeper forest path to Duisitzkarsee. There are huts near the lake where you can stop off. The hike continues along a path to Neualm. From there you return to Eschachboden. Return journey with the hiking bus. Overnight stay in Schladming-Rohrmoos.
Day 3:
Schladming-Rohrmoos – Preunegg – Ramsau am Dachstein, approx. 19.5km, 8 hours. Altitude in ascent / descent: 962m / 688m.
The hike to Ramsau begins at the foot of the Hochwurzen, through a romantic gorge you reach Preunegg. In Gleiming you cross the Enns and follow the path to the Ramsau plateau. Overnight stay in Ramsau am Dachstein.
Day 4:
Dachstein Glacier: The free hiking bus takes you to Türlwand, the valley station of the Dachstein Glacier cable car. The impressive cable car ride ends at 2,700m. Take a short hike on the glacier ice and feel the thrill of the Dachstein suspension bridge and the “Stairway to Nowhere”. Overnight stay in Ramsau am Dachstein.
Day 5:
Ramsau - Haus im Ennstal, approx. 12.5km, 4 hours. Altitude in ascent / descent: 245m / 613m.
We leave Ramsau via the south side on the Philosophenweg. The Sattelberghütte invites you to take a break, and there is a lot to discover on the adventure mountain, especially for children. We continue past the beautiful farming village of Birnberg, at the sports center over the Enns towards home. Overnight stay in Haus im Ennstal.
Day 6:
Haus im Ennstal – Gröbming, approx. 23km, 7 hours. Altitude in ascent / descent: 800m / 800m.
Via Weissenbach slightly ascending to Sonnberg with Kneipp facility for tired hiking feet. On the southern flank of the Aichberg, the path leads into the Gröbminger Basin with a wonderful panoramic view. The last part of the route leads via the town of Weyern to the center of Gröbming. Overnight stay in Gröbming.
Day 7:
Kulm/Freienstein mountain trail.
From the center of Gröbming to the Peace Bell, wonderful viewpoints and the Gröbming Adventure Park (if you're looking for a thrill, the Stoderzinken zipline is ideal here, payable locally). Overnight stay in Gröbming.
Day 8:
Individual departure.
 
General information
The daily hikes do not present any technical difficulties and are also suitable for beginners. Your hiking equipment should include: sturdy shoes, backpack, sun and rain protection, sweater and hiking jacket.
