Meet Alma

Alma Deutscher, the celebrated composer, violinist and pianist, will - for the first time in Vienna also as a conductor - present a promenade concert with her own works as well as favorites from Viennese classical music. The program focuses on highlights from Deutscher's new opera "Des Kaisers Neue Walzer", which premiered in Salzburg in March of this year and is now being presented to the Viennese audience for the first time.
Alma Deutscher (born 2005) began playing the piano at the age of two and the violin at the age of three. At the age of six she composed her first full piano sonata. A violin concerto and a piano concerto followed, which she has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world, including her sold-out debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2019. Her first full-length opera, Cinderella, premiered in Vienna when she was 11 years old and caused a worldwide sensation among the public and the press. Her music has been released on several CDs and DVDs, including by the Vienna State Opera and by Sony Classical.
