Hiking time at Feuerkogel

Description
This hike offers you the perfect opportunity to take a break from everyday life. You hike through this wonderful mountain landscape in a unique way but without too many obstacles.
Accommodation: Overnight stay in the hut in beds or in a dormitory. You have to bring your own sleeping bag. Due to their location, not all cabins can offer running water, hot water or showers. Sometimes there is no flushing water in the toilets. Public car park on site (for a fee). Payable on site: local tax.
Your hiking tour
Day 1:
Individual arrival in Ebensee and hike to the Riederhütte. After your arrival in Ebensee, the Feuerkogel cable car takes you to about 1600 meters above sea level. From here you hike over the high plateau to the Alberfeldkogel with its European cross and a wonderful view of the Lake Traunsee, the Lake Langbathsee and the mountains of the Salzkammergut. The path continues through the karst landscape of the Höllengebirge mountains to the Riederhütte.
Approx. 5 km, 2-3 hours, difference in altitude ascent/descent: 440 / 250 m. Overnight stay at the Riederhütte.
Day 2:
Over the Schneekogel to the Kranabethhütte. The highest point of the day is our starting point at 1765 meters above sea level and the lowest is at 1378 meters. The path winds through the wonderful karst landscape, mostly with leisurely ascents and descents. At first it goes in the direction of the Schneekogel. Then it goes on the Kaiserweg over rocky terrain, a stale rocky path and a short stretch on an insured path to the Kranabethhütte. The phenomenal view from the hut's terrace offers the perfect opportunity to end the day.
Approx. 7.5 km, 3-4 hours, difference in altitude ascent/descent: 260/490 m. Overnight at the Kranabethhütte.
Day 3:
Descent with the Feuerkogelbahn and departure. Finally, you take the Feuerkogel cable car down into the valley and walk through the village of Ebensee back to your starting point. Individual departure.

During the tour you are partially in high alpine terrain. Appropriate mountain equipment, sure-footedness, a head for heights and stamina are therefore prerequisites. The necessary equipment includes: hiking boots, functional clothing, backpack, water and food, rain and sun protection, warm clothing - even in midsummer, temperature drops are possible, hat, warm gloves, first aid kit, mobile phone, possibly hiking poles, etc.
