Description
With the opening of the ALBERTINA KLOSTERNEUBURG, the ALBERTINA is pursuing an essential goal: to make a large part of the collection of contemporary art after 1945 public. Artworks that are not intended or loaned for presentation at one of the other two locations remain accessible.
The contemporary art collection now includes around 65,000 works of art, including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures, videos and installations.
For the first time, the focus in one of the halls will be on sculptures: sculptures by Fraunz West, Erwin Wurm, Jonathan Meese and Marc Qinn will be on display. On the second floor, in addition to sculptures, ALBERTINA's core competence is also taken into account with drawings and watercolors.
