Brucknerhaus Linz

In 2024, the Brucknerhaus Linz has two reasons to celebrate: on the one hand, the 200th birthday of its namesake Anton Bruckner, and on the other hand, its own 50th anniversary. It starts with a festive concert by the Vienna Philharmonic. Under the direction of Zubin Mehta, Bruckner's 7th Symphony will be performed - just as it was 50 years ago, but with Herbert von Karajan at the podium. At the time, he summarized his impressions of the architecture and acoustics of the Brucknerhaus with the words: “An experience of intoxicating beauty.” The other LIVA houses, including the Posthof Linz and the children's cultural center, are also taking part in the program for Bruckner's 200th birthday
