Hof Castle in Marchfeld
Hof Castle in Marchfeld

Description

Austria's largest country palace complex, Hof Palace, is located in the east of Lower Austria. The 60-hectare site was acquired by Prince Eugene of Savoy in 1725 and subsequently became Empress Maria Theresa's favorite place. A stately baroque palace, an artistic baroque garden and a lively estate combine to create an overall experience for all age groups.

Hof Palace, with its magnificent architecture and sumptuous rooms, conveys the spirit of the 18th century in a lively way and invites you on an exciting journey into times gone by. The extensive baroque gardens over seven terraces exude imperial flair and the estate with numerous animals and themed gardens offers an interactive experience for the whole family.

Niederweiden Palace, as part of the palace complex, exudes a very special charm with the charm of a French pleasure palace.

On a guided tour you will also learn exciting stories and anecdotes about the historical figures who once resided here.

TIP: Special exhibition "The Eugene behind the Prince": The exhibition sheds light on the background of Prince Eugene's rapid rise as a formative figure of the Austrian Baroque in all its facets.
